I was heading down a few blocks to meet up with the neighborhood kids for a game of kickball. We played every day after school. As I was walking down the street, an older woman was walking down the street toward me.
“Hello Nancy”, she said. She could tell I was surprised that she knew my name. “ I know your mom and dad”, she said, “and I wanted to wish you a Happy Birthday”. I found myself blushing and I smiled.
